You may have heard the shouts. You may have been the one doing the shouting. A parent has lost sight of their fast moving little one near a busy street, in a crowded parking lot or near a swimming pool. Sometimes the panic is momentary. Other times the end is not so happy .
Every Christian ought to envision standing in judgment desperately looking for a co-worker, neighbor, friend or loved one. If we don’t see them, will we ask, “Where is he?!!!” It will, of course, be too late. The time to consider the eternal destiny of those who are special to us is now .
Paul told the saints in Corinth, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10). That verse may make me think of the special people in my life who have not yet obeyed the gospel. It should also make me think of my own condition.
Christ’s followers are to proclaim the good news to all people as they go (Mark 16:15-16). Faithful Christian men and women will teach others the things they have learned (2 Timothy 2:2; Matthew 28:18-20). We are, like Ezekiel, appointed as watchmen who must warn the lost. Failure will result in their destruction and us being held accountable for their blood (Ezekiel 3:17-19).
Who should you and I be praying for, asking God to give us a door of opportunity to tell of the Savior’s love? The time to begin praying is now, so we do not have to stand before God asking, “Where is he?!!!”
