“Run it Back”

Kids in the current era have a phrase, “run it back,” when they want to do something again or have another attempt at whatever they are trying to accomplish. If playing basketball, one kid reaches the score limit for the game, but then the other kid may use the phrase if the game was close or they think they can beat them if given another chance. With that in mind, how many times would you like to “run it back”? Was it something you said and you wish so badly you could take it back? Was it something you did that you wish you could do differently or maybe have done nothing at all? I think we have all been there.

I want to focus on the previous year, 2020. Amazingly, it is now close to a year of being in constant thought of how to avoid the pandemic. In many respects, in was maybe the worst year many of you have had in your lifetimes, especially if you or your family were affected by the coronavirus. Personally, I had a roller coaster of a year. Yes, the coronavirus was obviously a hindrance. However, I got married to my high school sweetheart, started a full-time job, and graduated college. If I had the chance to “run it back” on the year 2020, you may consider me crazy, but I would decline the offer.

Though the year was not ideal, nor was it planned, there were many accomplishments made in it. Many of which I do not want to try again! In life, I have learned rather quickly that your best made plans can be tossed by the wayside quickly. God “ran it back” for us when Jesus died on the cross (John 19:28-37). Therefore, you are using your second chance right now! What are you doing with it? I pray you are are making the most of the chances you have been given.
