On September 19th at 9:30 a.m. we will be having a door knocking day to reach out to people in our community. The special part about this particular day is that many congregations of the Lord’s church around the world will also be door knocking this same day. This is House to House Heart to Heart’s 7th Annual Door Knocking Day.
To help us prepare for this day we need your help. Here are the things needed to make this day a big success.
1. We need contacts. In a typical door knocking we pick an area around our building and knock on every door we come to. This is a great way to do this and we will still do it this way as well, but we want to try something different this time. What would happen if we reached out specifically to our friends, family members, and people we all know? What we are asking for is for each member to turn in at least one contact with their contact information so that on door knocking day we can reach out to all of these contacts. You never know, this might be the opportunity that reaches that lost soul and shows them Jesus and the gospel. Contact cards will be on the welcome table in the foyer. Please turn all cards in by September 16th.
2. We need volunteers. My hope is that we get so many contact cards that we don’t know what to do with them all. We are going to need volunteers to drive, sort materials, knock on doors, conduct bible studies, pray with people, and just be a helping hand as opportunities come up. Please sign up in the foyer if you plan to attend and put out beside your name what you are willing to do.
3. We need prayers. Do we believe God opens doors? I hope we do! Do we believe God answers prayers? I hope we believe that as well. So what would happen if we spent especially the next few weeks praying for open hearts, open minds, and doors of opportunity? Who knows how many people might be reached with the gospel. Join us in praying for these opportunities and let us put our hope and trust in God. God gives the increase.
